" Why re-invent the wheel? "

Hi Helmut  :brill:

It simply MUST be possible to improve them.  L:

Now, elliptical bicycle chainsets ... I never saw THAT one coming !!  :P

Anyway, there's nothing like yet another 'challenge' to clutter up the workbench !  ;)

After you modded your Captain Kirk 'Starfleet' Phaser ...

... adding what I think is the 'reversing' switch above the wheel/throttle + 4  C   L  push-button switches ...

... it looks like the modded controller ... GOT MODDED !

Obviously no input from the 'Starfleet' Gadget Dept. on ^^ this  C   L  lil' baby !  :thumb:

I was thinking of ditching the whole 'Star Trek' design $4!7 ...  :f:

... & going for something a bit more like your '80s cellphone design.  ;)

Not sure whether to plan for a reversing switch, which my other recent throttle has ...  L:

... or a 'center off' type of throttle, like the 'Tri-ang' P-42.   ???

Helmut, I think I'm right in saying BOTH the above ^^ modded controllers of yours were 12-Volt 8-AA cell powered originally.

What is your '80s cellphone modded one powered by ?

Those 12-Volt Transmitters must drop a TON of Volts ...

... the microchips inside, are gonna be 5-Volt, or on newer stuff 3.3-Volt for sure.

Are your modded Transmitters 'power hungry' at all ?  :!:  Probably not 'very', right ?  L:
