Howdy James...

As I remember, there are a couple of cast board "mounts" in the bunker for the stock board,
and they would need to be ground/cut off to give room for the new electronics.
Isolate the headlight wires from the board and cut them from the board,
you can use them on the new board.
Will removing this board be detrimental to the running of the loco?
By removing the stock board and installing r/c,
you will find that the stock pickup system is detrimental to great operation.
You may do what I did to all the stock boards and toss them in the circular file.
