Great book,
I highly recommend to anyone who likes narrow gauge.

As someone who has attempted to research railroads in Mexico,
I really have to tip my hat to Gerald Best on this book.

Without his efforts and photographs,
the history of most of these fascinating narrow gauge lines would be largely forgotten,
as Mexico lacks the resources such as historical societies, archives or local museums.

This, in addition to the fact that Mexico was so poor and dysfunctional,
for most of the 20th Century, very, very few people could afford cameras,
means that almost every photo in Mexican Narrow Gauge is a rare treasure.
