The simple answer is  yes   you can MU analog and DCC locos (I have) as well as 2 and 4 digit address locos. The analog loco won't have momentum (CV3 and CV4) programmed in (no decoder) so these two CVs are best programmed to 0:brill:.  I have a Digitrax Zephyr with 2 DT400R radio throttles and have never regretted going DCC. Many of my locos have sound and now that I'm going from HO logging to On30 logging, I'll have sound in all of my locos, mind you I'm going from 20 or so to 4 locosL:.

 I won't ever get into 'debates' on one system Vs another as they all have good and bad features. It's all a personal preference.
