I had a strong feeling that the electronics would get smaller over time and was actually planning on it a bit. :2t: Thus far I've only really converted the On30 2-8-0 which has a nice big tender to fit everything into but -- to be fair I wired up the S-CAB to 4 other things just to play with it. After years of track power it's still "magical" to be able to control a train and run it on the workbench with no track.

What I'd really like to do is get a pair of On30 Forney's setup with R/C+battery. Their bunker is a bit too small for the receiver+decoder+BPS+battery. As you say, the smaller the battery the smaller the capacity. I was wondering if it would be possible to use an extremely small battery and simply have wired tracks at either end of the layout. Basically, the battery only has to last between point A to point B and it can charge while on some main sidings or in front of a depot. In my head of course it works but I'm sure there's some other detail I'm missing.

Either way, I'll likely be hitting you up for one of those smaller BPS's once they become available.
