The "Roaring Twenties" were a unique time when anything seemed possible. The Great War was over, and the economy was booming. Anyone could be the "next Thomas Edison" as new things were created by individuals with imagination and rudimentary skills, not corporations.

For a real head shaker, check out some of the science fiction artwork of the day, popular in the "pulp" paper magazines!

And then, with a CRASH, it was all over! The good cheer, creativity of common folks, and excitement drained away into the Great Depression. Creativity turned toward survival and the "fun" of just a few years before seemed to be gone forever.

But the human spirit can't be held down forever, and after decades of strife we had the "Fabulous Fifties."
