Without fear that I am hijacking this thread (I started it anyway), I used to be in the Nimra and loved the Bulletin. It was a monthly magazine full (no damn ads) of real modeling, prototypes, info, and of course comedy (Thumbs, etc). Years past away and sometime in the last 10 or so years, I was asked by a fellow (from the net) if I would like to write an article for "Scale Rails"-the new Bulletin. I wrote about an On30 loco I had built from an old Mantua loco and sent it to him. He SENT ME A CHECK to pay me! I thought (whatcha get for thinking) that any articles sent to Nimra were a freebie. Well, OK, I got the check and cashed it (I needed money anyway) and pretty much forgot about the deal. Then a friend brought me a copy of the "Scale Rails" with my article in it. What I saw was about 50 pages of "material"...10 or so pages of actual modeling and 40 or so of ads! What the devil??!!! It was neat to see my article in print but the "magazine" was a real P O S..(you know what that means?) Yes, I still have the mag and every once in a while I get it out and think..."what a way to go!". Oh well...

Woodie
