It would be a shame to see such nice work get trashed

I to get question on some of my choices of who, what, when, how and most of all why.

But it's my railroad but in saying that I'm always open to suggestons to improve.

The main person to make happy is yourself if you're happy it's fine if not redo what you're not happy with.

Cheers Warren

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

Don't ever trash something because someone else does not like something about it.

Heck there are some who dont care for some of John Allens stuff..ahem. ;)

Don't let the nit pickers get to you.

This person had a veiw which he should have kept to himself.

Ignore it.

The best way to react. Is to not even reply to the post and if that does not work over time, vacate the said forum.

Please do not trash the diorama, just take a deep breath and get on with it.

Don

I appreciate the comments and criticism, thats one of the reasons I post pictures while I'm building. I had so many problems with this base I thought I was sort of over that.

Anyway, now that the road is trashed, I'm really not sure how to fix it.

How about some pictures of where it is now,  I am sure someone will be able to suggest some of the options you have.

Anything can be fixed...it all depends on how bad you want it. :pimp:

Remember...it was NOTHING when you started.

Now, if it is to the point that you are just tired of the problems...( been there, done that and bought the tee shirt )......set it aside and return, after your batteries are recharged. :c2:

Dave, there are thousands of people out there all with a thousand different opinions. If we listened to all of them and took them as the gospel, we would be tearing apart and redoing our layouts just to keep them satisfied. The only person who has the final say is yourself, so do what makes you happy. This project is YOURS when all is said and done, YOU have to look at it everyday, YOU might as well be proud of what YOU acomplished. The naysayers and nitpickers have nothing to do, BUT look at something they themselves cant acomplish, and then tell you how to do it so they can feel like they have achieved something they never could,in my humble opinion.

I now am stepping off the soap box, and say you have done one heckuva job that you should be proud of. :Salute:

Dave, Don't trash it. You've done a fantastic job. Without seeing pictures of the damage, it's hard to make suggestions but you might be able to make it an older looking road in need of repair.

BUT, the main thing is to do what YOU want, not anyone else.

Lets get a rope and hang the guy who did this to you... maybe that's a little harsh.

Here's what I got. Other than starting over I'm out of ideas.

Get some joint compound, mix in some fine sand or ballast, spread it on with a putty knife (leave some pot holes) paint it flat black, dirty it with whatever. It will look like an old worn out road. Build up some dirt on the sides and plant some weeds.
