More on the open engine shed:

I made a jig by cutting grooves in a piece of scrap plywood with a Dremel.

I used 1/16th brass tubing for the framework - it scales out to 3"in diameter in O scale. Not sure if it looks too spindly. What do you think?

I think the size is OK. I have to add the shop and replace the cardboard roof with corrugated sheeting. Then paint and details.

Comments and suggestions are always most welcome.

The shed is more or less finished - some interior details to be added:

I think what your missing on your engine shed is anti sway cross bracing, other than that everything looks good !!!

You're right, Mike! One big blow and I'll have a new industry - a scrapyard.

not very often would you get hit by a tornado or hurricane where you live, but depends of the area your modelling. ????

South west and midwest USA are both susceptable to those weather forces.

Thinking about it, some corregated sheets pointing upwards as if all bent due to serious winds and a definite SERIOUS SWAY 35--45 degree tilt pushed into the structures poles , could bring about a whole new vision. Cannot say if i have ever seen it modelled.
