I always love your backstories. This land is mysterious and yet very real in its own way.

The loco is a real charmer. We'll be looking for more on the transportation of aquavit.

That fancy iron support on the right hand end is just perfect, but the  fellow with the blue shirt needs a glass of the product in his left hand.

Great work Juergen, both with the little loco, and the tale. I don't know which I like more!

Thanks for comments guys,

The basic shape of the loco is preproduction model of a kit once planned by a friend of mine, but had to suffer many changes now.

So I opened the normally closed front, added new roof girder, the brass things, axle box immitations, wooden window frames, a metal sheeting on the roof, control stand and a foldable bench, that cost me hours of my life to fix the damn chains in the right position.

@Herb,
alcohol at work, that's unimaginable on Töffelholm :old dude: :moose:

Ok, no one knows really, what the driver is smoking there, but it keeps the gnats away :)

Juergen

Well,
I don't think that old Viking stonemason was drunken ( at least not so heavily ). Mind you, the older Futhark symbols are not

always an alphabet in the classical sense, but a symbolic means of expressing life essentials. Toeffelholm island was

inhabited by an agricultural community so one may investigate in that direction a bit. I have taken license to ask another

Professor Alfredsson ( there are many to be found in Sweden ) and he responded in ancient nordic to make the case clear:
...stirt var honum norrœnt mál, ok kylfdi mjǫk til orðanna, ok hǫfðu margir menn þat mjǫk at spotti.
"Nordic was difficult for him, he very much seeked for words, and many people took it to mock at him"
He said I should list the meaning of the symbols to maybe make sense of them, which I did.
The transscript is: Berkana, Gebo, Wunjo, Othala, Mannaz, Fehu, Ansuz, which can be translated as
fertility, gift, success, freedom, humanity, welfare, message

So one could read the essentials of an agricultural community out of it:
"Fertility is a gift. Success, freedom and humanity lead to welfare. This is the message"

The above is an example of how you can make up a scholarly essay out of pure  nonsense provided you've had a few beers - skol!

As I made this stone by myself, I sure had a initial idea choosing the signs.
But I'm able to develop my stories by myself.
