Gee: to be a  conversational point in Caboose hobbies is like being the grand act at the super bowl, Im honored. I hope that the conversation about dolly was good .Dolly Varden was a pleasure to build , im my eyes it just had to be built no question , Dan was a pleasure to co build with, and his modelling is superb, his vision is inspiring and his method is defined, a true craftsman. dolly will end its  touring days in march 2010 and what will be next I don,t know I have some ideas about a new large diorama but we will see. Im going to attemt to put some more pics up tonight in a larger format showing more of my models.

John,

You can stop ranting about Dolly Varden now, she's nearly off of our hands.  Hurry up and churn out a few Australian kits for me though that will fit within my home layout set up.  I should measure up and perhaps suggest a new footprint size that would work better for "packaging" purposes for yourself and Laurie.

Hi Dan,

This is the other half of Dolly Varden.  How have you been; and Happy New Year.

ive got to be carefull of you my friend you have a habit of influencing me without me knowing it, for example if I recall dolly was only going to be about 3.6 metres long {12ft for our usa freinds} and some how it ended up 28 ft long , what I intended to be a small exhibition layout based on dolly varden ended up a monster long prototype of dolly varden, but I enjoyed it,  and in some ways be sad when it leaves, So this brings me to ask what is your next exhibition layout going to be . and when will we see it ,you know as a almost MMR you need to build 1 exhibition layout a year { this is my rule not the NMRA} if you dont I will concider you  slack and unworthy. { Ha Ha Ha}said with touge in cheek.

see you at corio

john

John,

That new exhibition layout is well advanced in my head, but I do plan to spend some time on the home layout for a while now.  Besides, I have a few loco's to build before the new exhibition layout will be needed.  I have a few new presentation ideas for how I actually want it to work, but I'll keep them to myself until that layout actually starts to shape up.  Looking at my neighbours sedum crop in his front yard though, I think I'll be pretty busy making gum trees all through this winter!!!
