You've got a point. In a sense, it reminds me of a well-worn theme that comes to the fore over the next 4 weeks or so - involving a bearded guy, looking rather like something out of a Haddon Sundblom painting:

OK, I've never had nippers - and never wanted them - but I gather there might be certain things you're not supposed to say to them.
Some people could suggest that the working pushbike might be in a similar vein - they've probably got a point - however, this has never been my style.
Ever since I was a nipper, I've always been one to analyse things - how do they work - how did some guy put them together - stuff like that. I've got an enquiring mind - this is one of the things that made me want to be an engineer - it's also one of the things that helped me sustain my interest in railway modelling.
One of the big problems with my approach is that I don't normally enjoy watching films - except to "take them apart". I've never been able to "suspend my disbelief" - so, if I'm watching a film or television programme (or if there's an advert on and I've got nothing else to do), you can guarantee I'll be mentally deconstructing the film maker's every step (everything I can see or hear). If they've used a model, I'll be trying to work out how it was built - if there's something not quite right about the soundtrack (or what's being said), I'll notice. You get the idea.
A few months ago, the UK forum site RMweb had a thread in which people tried to identify all the cheap kits and household objects that had been used in building the models for "Thunderbirds" - let's just say that I hated the programmes (even when I was a nipper), but I loved the thread.
Anyway, I think I'd better not say any more on a certain subject.

Yes, I admit it. At least I got to see the train up close!
