$2500, $850, etc. for a STINKIN'KIT! It is no wonder this hobby is going to hell in a bucket of crap! I know this post is "deletion fodder", but I just had to respond!

Ah Woodie :old dude::old dude::old dude:, your just trying to be obstinat.

People buy kits like that because they are incapable of duplicating a structure of that calibre and that they can construct a whole layout around.  There is a total of 2300 parts in it.

Banta model works produces something in that price area or even more at $975.00 . Its the Pro Patria mill  There must be a demand for it ?  Its 34 inches deep, 48 inches wide 30 inches tall.....IMPRESSIVE !!!!    see link below

Regardless of the price it is impressive and it would be fun to afford it and all the details it would eat up in a scene. At the rate I'm working at it would be the only kit I'd ever have to buy. It would take just a few decades just for me to build. I have the turtle method of construction down pat.

Herb, That is really funny.  I used to be the sole moderator on the worlds largest Z Scale site. Sounds like we both went to the same 'moderator school?'  Jim:moose:

Jim

Since you were a Mod, you know that the likely hood of getting rich on the salary is slightly remote. That being so, if you're not in it for the money, it better be fun.

Now, if you will excuse me---

WOW !!

Hadn't seen the Coon Gap Sawmill here before.

It is rather a nice kit.

Pretty cool layout from Leeds.

That weirdy beardy loco looks like a winner too.

I know somebody named DOUG in canada who built one of these in HO scale and he said it would have been easier to scratch build it.

There is a lot of laser cut post and beams in this kit. Would drive ya crazy copying them or making each one scratch. Think i would have rich sheppard of R S LASER KITS laser cut new ones for me.

Tough one to get , this is the O scale kit as they MASTER CREATIONS only made 50. I managed to work a trade on one for 4 tom yorke kits. Problem was that the particular kit somebody had gone thru it and lost a lot of wood parts, so i unfortunately cancelled the trade.

Hi Mike,
I think I saw some of these very limited "limited editions' are being re-run as a re-release on the BTS site in the last 12 months or so.

I am not sure if there are differences between the original 50 and the re-release "Encore" items. See http://www.btsrr.com/

Maybe you can score a Coon Gap Mill still?
