Clif-them thar sticks have since been replaced with high tech camera tripods. As I can afford them, I buy a couple of them at a time, I believe that now I have 14 and plan for maybe 4 or 5 more to get rid of the sticks.  And yes, it does do the job..I can run trains in the nice fresh air and if I need to, the entire layout can be taken apart and hauled around and then set up again. Why be on a layout tour when you can bring the layout to the show!

On the "technical" side, many modular layout builders have "3 point" supports to hold up the sections. I think that I can use the adjustable tripods in the same way. Will it last? Who knows, but I have watched the layout as 60 MPH winds and sideways rain pound down and it never moves! Of course, if a tornado hits then it's all over..but if that happens, I have more to worry about than a silly train layout!

Woodie the sticks had me thinking about where they came from. I must say I thought they were recycled broom handles left behind when the resident witch flew away

Looking through the back pages of this topic. I find many photos missing (witness protection program?) or shots of folks that we don't hear from anymore. In fact the five-YES, ONLY FIVE! that I found that post and have pictures are-

Dwaynward
Woodie
Mudge
Grywht
Dwayne
sorry if I missed anyone

One theme that seems to run through the first four pages, is that our leader, Dave's picture was missing--it still is-- along with our second in command, Don.

What's it going to take guys? Do we have to contact your wives for some embarrassing shot?

Herbie  :old dude:

Woodie,

That photo ended up on the back of a milk carton !!!! (laughing) as far as the wonderful background. That shot was taken in the small Mining town of Black Hawk Colorado in the Fall. It has perfect scenery to model a little rundown mining town micro layout.

I'll post some pics of the town soon.

Regards: Ronnie D.:cb:
