I can make a pattern and get my mate to cast them in resin.
I no longer have a family to feed, which is why I can make patterns for people for a very good price, but I was in your position for years and raised a family of 5 and paid a mortgage, etc. on conventional modelmaking.
I have Turbo CAD courtesy of an old friend, but can't get a line on the screen and I hate staring at a screen, it makes my eyes sting, but would give it a go if I could find instruction.
My comments were based on the fact that you seemed to be having problems with it.

It is obviously the future for those who can master the software, but it ain't my idea of modelmaking, it's just rapid prototyping. No pride, no fulfilment for me. I would do it only to meet a client's spec. if I could get it to work. The end technology is fascinating though. But as part of a hobby, I find it like bolting a bigger outboard on a dingy..."So what?"

Manifestly it is better to use simple tools expertly than to possess a bewildering assortment of complicated gadgets and either neglect or use them incompetently. ( L.T.C.Rolt) Blog @
