Just unveiled: the railcar of choice for the 1% (that's the old Upper Crust) at:
http://blog.cardomain.com/2011/07/18/watch-top-gear-season-17-episode-4-for-free-streaming-hq/
Once the video starts go to the little number panel at right, select "3" and enjoy the perks that money can buy!.

It was a funny clip. However, that Jaguar railcar is "trumped" by a photo in the Timber Times magazine of a Rolls Royce "Silver Cloud" in the 1930's which was converted to a railcar for a rich lumber baron. If I can find that photo I will try to pass it along.

I saw that pix of the Sliver Cloud Rolls someplace years ago-- possibly in the old pulp Railroad magazine. Remember that one Woodie?  Had all the latest 2 and 3 ft abandonments in it--plus some great RR fiction. without dropping down to the "How Sidney Snodgrass Saved Tilly Trueheart When Fred Foulfellow Tied Her to the Tracks" sort of drivel.

Why do I remember this sort of stuff?

Of far more importance, why do I bore others with it---sign of old age I guess-----

Well, here's the Rolls:

@ the video: A Jaguar as railcar is tasteless... according to the indecent traction problems a real gentlemean had chosen a 4WD Jensen FF:

Nope, that ain't the Rolls I saw. The photo I saw (& can't find) was a "traditional" Rolls, not the wild looking whatchamacallit shown in the link. That was interesting however.
