Continuing the Rail Truck sound saga, can anyone help me sort out the most suitable Loksound Goose decoder options? Most web sites quote a model number of 72461 but this seems now to be a downloadable sound file on the ESU web site. I'm told by one supplier that this is an obsolete non-supported item and the new version which they supply is 74461. Also, there appear to be two versions of this, an 8 pin and a 21 pin. What's the difference? As a relative newcomer to DCC I haven't met this distinction before. There seem to be other options but I suspect they are blank decoders that need loading with the sound file.  I'm assuming I need a minimum 1Amp decoder for the Bachmann Rail Truck. Don (Paladin) has suggested I post this on a "two heads are better than one" basis and thanks ,Don, for your input to date.

Sorry to be late with this response. I have used two Soundtrax TSU750 sound decoders in two of my Bachmann 0-4-0 Gas Mech and they sound very good. They are small but fit ok with some work, they too sound like they are changing gear.

Rod.

Hi,

I have a LokSound Goose Decoder in one of my McKeen Motor Cars. The box has the following written on it (product number 72449 LokSound V3.5 Baldwin VO 6cyl, 1chime Air Horn).

It sounds cool and runs great.
