In my opinion, sound volumes need to be set fairly low otherwise the sound becomes intrusive if you have a number of locos sitting around idling. However, what i want to do is set all sounds to a low level, but keep horns to a higher level. Anyone know how this is done through CV settings?

Thanks in advance TREV

Trev I have a number of Loksound decoders in my fleet and I've found the only way to really turn down the sound is if you have the speaker in a position where it has an uninterrupted way of the sounds being heard. I don't think you can decrease the motor sounds and still have a loud horn sound unless there is some way in which you can fit a independent speaker for the horn only. But you would probably have to have a separate decoder for the horn which would be difficult in a limited space.

Trev.

Download a copy of De-coder Pro ( FREE )  This allows you to do just about anything you could wish for.  This is a computer interface arrangement

Thanks guys for both suggestions. Given my abilities, I will firstly try the JMRI path.
