Okay, Im a member of a Slim Gauge Circle Group in UK called OTT - O gauge Track & Trestles, or OTT - over the top.

We met on Sunday just gone and had 12 boards up, each 4 ft long. Our problem is using DCC. We have decided to use Digitrax as the main DCC system and to use Lenz as a complete backup system.

We believe we cannot use either of the systems hand throttles on the opposing system, so what we intend to do is to thread together a series of power outlets and run these around the boards and then simply plug in the hand throttles of that system, ie Digitrax.

To incorporate the Lenz system too, what we are intending to do is to run a further series of power outlets (but this time Lenz instead of Digitrax) around and if the Digitrax goes down then we will be easily able to couple up the Lenz system throttles

Will this work okay - anyone any comments

Why not just buy a second Digitrax system.

Hi Ky Blue
We already have a single Digitrax system and 3 full Lenz systems, and it would be pointless wasting them, besides which I personlaly think Lenz is a better system. It is also much cheaper to use what we already have, to buy the 3 extension sockets would cost about 316 EACH - IE £48 Plus some cable, a new Digitrax system would be over £400 and would still need extension sockets - no contest
