I'm like Herb, I can take a book with me into the "throne room" for some reading, a computer is not what I want while I am "thinking". Great find however. My inspiration, the Silver City, Pinos Altos, & Mogollon RR had a Lidgerwood hoist, someday I will build it...someday...

***UPDATE-I just bought a copy from ABE for $16.76 with free shipping. This is (of course) a reprint, but that's OK***

That looks like a nice one to pop onto the old Ipad. Thanks!

I'm very happy to use digital books even though I love the paper ones. If I want to read in the "throne room" or on the train I use my Kindle - though I don't think e-readers are perfect by any means yet.

Anyway - this does not let me download this book - does the download work only for people in the US?

In exchange I give you this link http://archive.org/details/treatiseonwooden00fostuoft

A treatise on wooden trestle bridges, according to the present practice on American railroads (1897)

Thanks Harold

It's good to see more of these sort of books becoming available.
