Moving on, I've now cleared some more of my garage space and have all 6 of my first build boards about done, they bolt together, forming an L shaped area with a long side of 19ft and an L, with that around 9ft, that's what I have at home. I now need to see what will go around my bend.

There should be no difficulty Posting photos at all.

" Well, still not got my photo taking sorted properly "

Hi Ash

Are you having difficulty TAKING photos, or POSTING photos ?
Either way, if you need some help, let us know WHERE the difficulty may be.

Photos DO need to be 'resized' before Posting, is THAT the difficulty.

Let us know where the specific difficulty is.
We are here to help.
I would be more than happy to guide you through Posting photos, whatever the circumstance may be.

All the best.

Cheers.

This is all so very easy that I can do it...and I live in a cave and didn't get past 3rd grade!

Be glad that we don't have to use Photof%^&-it, etc., anymore.

OK guys thanks for that. I use a Samsung pad 4, and a nikon d70 digital camera.
I intend using Dropbox, for my picture storage, do you think that's okay ?

I have no difficulty taking the photos, the camera is good, it's a case of me uploading them into whatever is the photo holder ie Dropbox.
I hope to post some soon

Hi guys, just realised that my Samsung pad 4 has an excellent digital camera.
So instead I will try first to take photos with this, put them into Dropbox (already on here)and then post them that way.
I will try tomorrow, it's 7pm here in UK.

Hi Ash.

If you have photos to Post.
The quickest & easiest way to Post them, is using the 'Attachment button', at the bottom of the Freerails 'Reply' window.
The 2nd easiest way to Post them, is to use the Members Gallery, where your photos can also be organized into folders etc.

Personally I would NEVER recommend using an outside Photo host, if your photos can be here at Freerails, where the Thread they belong in is as well.

You only have to look through the net for 5-mins, to see...
PHOTO MISSING
PHOTO MISSING
PHOTO MISSING
On peoples Threads all over the place.

This is the kinda result that is, not always, but often, the result you can end up with, using outside photo hosts.

A photo re-sized to a sensible size, eg. 800x--- 4:3 or 'widescreen' & under 0.5Mb loads quickly for viewers of Freerails Pages.
This is more than can be said for many outside photo hosts.

My personal 'pet hate' in this regard, is 'PhotoBucket', the general speed & reliability of which, I have found to be terrible.
Many outside photo hosts use 'dead space' on 'ancient servers', to store your photos; some even charge you money for the 'service', if you can call it that.

Try the Freerails 'Attachment Button' or 'Members Gallery' first & see how you get on with it.
It's quick, easy, & dare I say, reliable.

I've made it, I'm still alive, still have some money left and I still have my railroad items.
I had to get divorced, move again, and Ive now got a spare room that will be used for my railroad.
It's only 9ft x 9 ft but will do me.
I'm still going to build a logging layout, maybe woods to sawmill, or just sawmill area, or just woods area.
Either way, I will be able to start on it in next couple of weeks.
This time I'll get my camera working first and see how I do.
looking forward to being back.
