You like that? You should get a load of my layout "room". But then, I'm an Outlaw anyway.
BTW, welcome to Freerails.

Hi All,
it's good to be back. Since I last wrote, I've changed modelling clubs, my last one,Wakefield, didn't have room for scale, but my new one Keighley does have room, and I've been given a space around 60 ft x 10 ft, in which to build my railroad. It will be end to end and logging, with a cutting area at one end, a logging camp midway, and a Sawmill at the other end.
I'm now learning to post pics and will get that done before I proceed any further.
looking forward to talking again

Hi Ash

I scratched a few Westside Lumber Company cars a way back in 1:24
Shelf queens in the end.
Still need trucks for 2, as they never ran.

GREAT NEWS about the new 60x10 !!
If that space is planned well, it could be an EMPIRE.

My mistake in part was building prototype 24' cars.
Should have made slightly smaller stuff in 1:24 really.

Hope the photo posting goes OK.
WE LOVE PIX. !!

Well, still not got my photo taking sorted properly, but I'm on with it.
I've decided to stick with the garage and take modules into the clubhouse, work on them and then bring them home.
I've been looking at one or two different track layouts, even worked on a On30 at a show last weekend. If I can do that type of layout in F scale I will be happy, so onwards and upwards and one day I'm sure I will have photos for you to see
The layout will indeed be modular, at the moment the idea is to have 4ft x 2ft boards at a height of around 45 inches from ground level. I may extend two boards to 5ft x 30 inch, but we shall see, I start building the boards this week
It will be dcc and run off my Lenz 100 units, giving me 5 amps, so that should cope with all my needs.
Graham

Well, I've made the crucial start, I've got 3 boards just about built, and they are all different, ones 56 x 24", ones 48 x 24 " and the third is 48 x 24" , but has been fitted with larger (2 X 2") legs, these form one end of 106 x 24 " the other being a 24 inch wide board onto my corner board, thereby giving me a done corner 106 x 72".
I will get some pics done now, today.

Moving on, I've now cleared some more of my garage space and have all 6 of my first build boards about done, they bolt together, forming an L shaped area with a long side of 19ft and an L, with that around 9ft, that's what I have at home. I now need to see what will go around my bend.

Ash, if you have difficulty posting pictures, go to Flickr and use them to host (save) photos. Posting is then easy. You just:
select your photo in Flickr,
at the bottom right of the screen are four symbols.
select the bent arrow,
this throws up a size choice screen,
select BBCode,
select the size you want from the drop down box (I usually choose 800 x 600),
copy the resulting code in the box above,
paste that in your post and a picture will appear.

There should be no difficulty Posting photos at all.

" Well, still not got my photo taking sorted properly "

Hi Ash

Are you having difficulty TAKING photos, or POSTING photos ?
Either way, if you need some help, let us know WHERE the difficulty may be.

If you are a P.C. user, the 'G' Gallery is available & easy to use.
If you are a Mac user, you may have to Post photos as an 'attachment', again easy to do.

Photos DO need to be 'resized' before Posting, is THAT the difficulty.

Let us know where the specific difficulty is.
We are here to help.
I would be more than happy to guide you through Posting photos, whatever the circumstance may be.

All the best.

Cheers.

Just remember that you MUST have photos in your Freerails gallery to use the "G" button. This is all so very easy that I can do it...and I live in a cave and didn't get past 3rd grade!

Be glad that we don't have to use Photof%^&-it, etc., anymore.
