The local N Scale club, SANTRAK, works with the local HobbyTown USA [San Antonio, TX] to put on Model Railroad Clinics.  I have been asked to do an Introduction to DCC clinic on February 23, 2013.  The clinics generally start at 10 AM and end before noon.

I plan on doing a simple overview of DCC, what it has to offer, and what it's limitations are.  I hope to have systems from Bachmann, CVP, Digitrax, MRC and NCE available to show off on an N Scale T-Trak layout from SANTRAK as well as a simple loop of track with some of my Large Scale.  I do not know if my Z Scale will be ready by then, there seems to be a back order on the track I need.

If you live within reasonable driving distance and plan to attend I would be happy to have you post here some ideas on what you would want covered.  There will be at least one follow up clinic on Decoder Programing with possible future clinics to cover areas like Consists and Speed Matching.

Nathan, how did it go? Even though I use a different power option, I would have liked to see your clinic. You can surely post the "particulars" here if you want to.

Reminder to those of you in the San Antonio, TX area of the DCC Clinic at HobbyTown on the Feb 23.

On March 23 at the SANTRAK Club I will do a clinic on Programing mostly aimed at the Easy DCC system they use but will have other systems there also.

We had about 20 people at the clinic today. Had lots of good questions.

We had systems from Bachmann, CVP, Digitrax, Lenz and NCE for people to look at and get some 'hands on'.

The next Clinic in the series will be at the SANTRAK Club on Programing March 23 starting about 10:30 AM.

We will cover CVP and NCE systems, will try and have some others for people to compare.

The third clinic on Consisting and Speed Matching is April 27 at HobbyTown in San Antonio starting at 10:30 AM. We will talk in general terms and cover how Bachmann, CVP and NCE handle their versions of Consisting. There will also be a short section on 'Kick Start' and slow speeds.

In August we are planing to do a general Decoder Install clinic covering several different scales.

The Clinic went well today, about 20 people. Lots of good questions, most of which I was able to answer.
