Howdy friends. Many of you know of Bill (Muj) here on Freerails. He may not be with us much longer, old age, smoking, and health problems are bringing him down. I will post an update here later. Bill was a WW2 pilot and trained many young men who went overseas. He also was a fine graphic artist, I may post some of his work here (at least the art that wouldn't get the site closed down!). Bill was a flyer and built  radio control, control line, and free flight aircrfaft. He pushed me along the r/c trail for model trains when most everybody else wanted me to shut up and crawl back into my hole! And his fine little HO/HOn3 layout will be treasured by me (as all his other things), I hope to add scenery to the line someday. I will miss those times we ran the Mogollon Railway, shared a couple of beers, and all the tales he told me through the years. There will be a large void in the "continium" when he passes but I know that he will probably be telling St. Peter that he needs a shave and haircut! Such is Tillman Lupton Caldwell, my buddy Bill. Say a prayer for him and we will remember him with much love.

Take care friends, we'll all be together someday.                                                             Woodie

Bill shoots the MRy.

Phone conversations with Muj were always a trip.

They would start out with him asking "What's new?", and then he would launch into a story about the old days, before I had a chance to answer. After a while he would say "Well, I been doin' all the talking--your turn" and immediately start on another story. His dad was a prominent minister in Waco TX, and many of Muj's stories were about his childhood, trying to get around rules that his parents tried to impose.

I will miss him, and his stories.

Sorry to hear about Muj.

We talked about sailing on several occasions. He was interested to know what it was liketo go ocean sailing when there was no land insight, no different than sailing on a lake, the water is still wet and the challenge is the same. Then there was model railways,

I have enjoyed his company during our "CHAT" sessions

Muj asked to go home from the hospital so he could be with his best mate, Woodie.

Very sorry to hear about Bill ... yet somewhat encouraged that he had so many years to spend with his hobby and FRIENDS! Best wishes to all.

Ah - sad to hear. Only meet him a few times on the chats on here, but he always seemed a realy nice guy and I very much admired his work.

My best wishes to you both.

Tom

So sorry to hear the old curmudgeon is doing so badly. He's definitely in my thoughts and prayers. He may be a pain to deal with at times but has certainly earned that right by first defending our freedom and second, just by sticking around so darn long.

Bless him...
