Sir Woodrow-

Please note that the post by BettyAndy says "guest" and not "member"

This is because, alas, the lass is no longer with us. I would have blitzed the post except for the fact that Dallas, scamp that he is, made a comment that made me laugh.

Way to go Dallas!

I don't think I've ever actually eaten any spam ... but I've seen enough Monty Python to know that it can be funny!

I'd agree with that assessment.

Shame that a few "bots" and "script kiddies" haven't heard of the usual FreeRails recipe for spam fritters:
  • Take some spam - we don't want much (preferably none at all) - but we might as well throw it all into the mix.
  • Chop it up.
  • Blast it with steam.
  • Batter it thoroughly.
  • Dunk it in hot oil.
  • Fry it until it's really crisp.
  • Spit it out.

Joking aside, I thought guest posting had been blocked on this site - I suspect it probably has now.

I'm wondering if this is the same joker that was going on about scale houses a few weeks back.

As for the compost, I would have suggested a liberal covering of manure - except that the original post seemed to be full of the stuff.

Anyway, I thought your response was far more amusing.

Just as well our "guest" isn't likely to appreciate the funny side of this any time soon.

Regards,

Huw.

"Guest" posting was outlawed ... Herb simply deleted the spammer's account and converted them to "guest" so we could have a little fun with it. Spam, spam, spam, spam & eggs! :)

Apologies for the misunderstanding.

I put it down to me having a cold.

Well, that's my excuse - and I'm sticking to it.

All the best,

Huw.

HIYA...

About the topic of spam.....

If you buy a can or two each week NO ONE WILL TOUCH IT...

Then when the power goes out and everyone is screaming about how cold and hungry they are. Just chop down the hedge, light it on fire and serve up a batch of chicken lips and pig feet...
They will love you till the power comes back on...
You'll be on your own after that......

I think that Spam--the kind that comes in cans--has been given a bad rap.

Slice thin, fry, then put between two hunks of rye toast with some yellow mustard.*

Not a bad sandwich--but then, I open a can of soup and eat it cold because sticking it in the microwave is too much trouble.

HIYA..

I agree 100%!!

Folks think that it is awful just because of the name.

#1.. it can last in the pantry or car trunk for years.

#2.. a tomatoes and some Mayo makes a great sandwhich.

#3.. when ya plan ahead for the unexpected and when that happens ya go to bed with a satisfied appotite and not a growling belly. Ya get that " yep I planned ahead and survived " big head rush...
The fast food junkies sorta fall short on that note...

So..... back to trains....

I bet ya could stick a can of it on the backhead of just about any steamer or the exhaust manafold of a petrol loco and have a nice warm meal in a pinch..... but ya better crack the seal on the can or
ya 'd get a hot meal bomb..

..ROFLMAS!!!

I used to gross out my Boy Scouts by eating a "Spamcicle," a largish chunk of Spam on a popcicle stick.  :glad:

HIYA....

Yep.... the way I figure it, you should have AT LEAST 10 cans per person in the household PER PERSON bare minimum PLUS BEANS, same ratio for at least 2 weeks!!
Now I live in KY, so there is not a real need to stock pile pallets of water.... A good water filter will do if you get to the point of drinking the Ohio river..
And that leads to the next part....baseball bats work better on zombie conductors than bullets but you can't beat a 12 ga pump with copious amounts of number 1 buckshot.. stay away from big knifes because their blood splaters can be infectious...
Anything else you might want to find will be in U.S. ARMY Field Manual 99.9 . Zombie defensive posture and proceedires....
If you go by the above information you might make it till the feds roll in and "officially " tell you your screwed... Have a nice day...
