Si, that old Lionel pack is AC and would fry your butt if you crossed the wires! The old MRC's were state of the art and I still use an old one (MRC 1300) for the little Gila Tram layout. It has direction control, on/off, AND pulse or "full". Since I don't prowl the hallowed walls of evilbay, I imagine that some of those "sellers" want mas dinero for these old things. Somebody gave me the GT's pack along with a Marklin (AC) pack that weighs probably 20 pounds! A boat anchor for sure but I may use it for something. That MRC 9950 is beyond my scope, hell, I still use ancient r/c transmitters...but wait...I don't need no stinkin'power supply for my 35n2!

@Woody
That old faithful Märklin 2x16V/50VA transformer is ideal to power my Intellibox and/or DCC-booster(s). Yes, I still operate DCC because not all my TT ga. locos have been converted to BPRC - sometimes there's only room for TPRC!

Howdy Helmut, the old power pack is worth keeping. Who knows, I may use it for lights, etc. or maybe build a small arc welder...I would send it to you but can you imagine how much shipping overseas would cost? A rubber mold for Daniel cost over $20 USD to send to Amsterdam and it weighed a fraction of what the power pack does! It would be cheaper for me to get a plane ticket & bring it...hey, that's an idea!!!

@Woody
Sure, come over whenever you like. Once your eyes have adapted from the wide open spaces to little old Germany ( easily overlooked ), I'll even dust off my 27MHz Playmobil loco for you to operate!
No need to bring that Transformer- I have one already and cherish it.

Howdy Woodie :cb:

Thanks for the technical advice ! :shocked:
I'll make sure my wiring is tidy & my posterior well away from any terminals. (_!_)

Think SAFETY FIRST kids ! :w:

Don't forget to wear a mask also ...

... depending on how dusty your old analog controller is. ;)

Not bad for 32 Shillings and 6 Pence !

:!:
