Do you mean 'Tuxedo Junction, saga of an H0 empire' featured in MR? The protagonists  ( if my memory serves me well ) - Hal, Ernie, and Caroline?

Well - this one I got 1960 and it is still going strong. Selenium rectifier and paper-foil capacitors ( the ones that effectively short-circuit everything when failing, which they did rather often ) for suppression in the mains input.

Hi Helmut

Looks like a WINNER for chunky analog packs ! :bg:

$4!7 I gave away my REALLY chunky analog packs a while back...

...DAMN ... Never thought I'd need 'em.

Oh well, the new Tri-ang P-42, RELCO, Hornby Dublo Bakelite transformer setup has MORE than replaced those ol' fly gigs . . .

Maybe . . .

I do like the BIG lever $4!7 that Hal jazzes on about though !

That M.R.C stuff looks MADE TO LAST !

:moose:

Si.

Dr. Frank N. Steen used one of those for his "experiments".

Despite being totally ancient & powered by leaky 19th Century steam cylinders ...

... Woodie is a pretty 'Hi Tech Guy' ! :brill:

Hidden away inside his rusty ol' locomotives ...

... heavily disguised by the Zen Masters 'Industrial Apocalypse' look...

... are   MICROCHIPS !!

Some of these mooodern electronic marvels, do need a 'breaking in' period.

Of course, down Dallas way, the traditional methods are still the most reliable.

Here, Woodie is 'breaking in' a new Texas-Instruments TL07x series microchip.

Holding on tight to the wiring is vitally important & needs both hands.

In clenched teeth is a pre-made 'Pliobond' traction-tire...

...ready to be lassooed around the new locos wheels.

It's dangerous work ... But the ore-cars must be kept on the move !
