HOLY COW! Is it possible that someone will build it? "If you build it, they will...freak out!". I KNOW that Herbie can make one, I can make one (unwired), and my ops buddy Mopman can make one with some wires somewhere, but we don't NEED the stinkin' thing. I would like to see somebody do this and USE it on a layout. For sure, it would satisfy the NMRA's MMR program in several areas...trackwork, wiring, engineering, insanity, craziness...

DO IT, Make my day!

I am surprised that after all this, no one has reported that it appears that a piece of rail is missing from the prototype-----

It does look like it, doesn't it !

Should it be modelled that way ?

How many rail-spikes were used ?

Were they counted back in '52 ?

I found this video on YouTube of a model layout that has similar track work.

Yes, and the layout is two rail power.

Excellent trackwork, all switches and crossings soldered to PC board ties- too many places with no room for spikes

I was browsing fast tracks website and found the link to the owners blog where he describes how he built his track work. http://www.bronx-terminal.com

This picture is interesting also, in which he says rails are placed only when the diamond is used.

Seems they ran out of stamina to put in a solid diamond there, too, as the blade links would not have interfered with that.
