I've been working for a while now on my H0 scale layout. It is L-shaped. The size is about 9'9" by 6'2" include a module with sidings. The modules (5 of them) are 22" deep.

The trackplan is kept simple cause of the limited space and the slow progress.

As you can see, there is still a long way to go.

Yep, the same as the 3 months of snow last winter. Only difference, the snow was not nice....

Hi Alwin

The snow here, across the water; was a killer last year...
...jees, used to think it was 'fun' as a kid !

Looks 'cool' Alwin...
...I see where your nice buildings are headin' for.

Do you have a track-plan; even just a scribble ?
I can't work it out from the pics.

I have a similar space; which could be about a 7'x5' L-shape with 24"ish wide boards.
Am scribbling myself at the moment !

It looks hilly Alwin...
...obviously not modelled on your local area I guess !!!

Cheers

Si.

Hi Si,

Thanks. I do have a track plan. I first made some skretches by hand but on a layout I made a couple years back (never finished it) I had some problems with the curves. They were too tight and a shay I have couldn't run through.
So I also made a cad drawing to see if the plans from the sketches were even possible. No. I changed things and keep it simple to make sure that everything 'works'.

Here is the trackplan. Buildings and trees are just suggestive.

Interesting.

I'm guessing that two different gauges are involved?

... a picy says 1000 words !

I'm guessin' with Herb ...
( a dog's intuition ! )
... perhaps an HOn3 track; feeding the ore-bins.

Cheers

Si.

P.S. Good to be carefull on the radius's ...
... I see Martin in On30, ripped up loads of stuff ...
... to go from 22" to 24" ...
... flippin' Forney !!!

Sorry for the late reaction, had a little holiday break.

You guys are almost right. There are 2 gauges. But it's not H0n3 but H0n2.5 (9mm gauge) what feeds the ore bin.

Finally an update here. I've finished the plaster work recently. Ans I've been busy with coloring the rocks of the first module. I still have to apply the east indian ink and maybe more brown/red in some area's.
