Si-that stuff is way way too cool! I will check into those kits, they probably cost more than a locomotive...but who cares. My only question is whether the finished model is "bullet proof" to be outside sometimes. Will let you know.

Hi Woodie :cb:

Hope the weather is rampin' up down south !
Can't wait to see summer-ops at the new sawmill !
( get some safety equipment installed for Miguel ... PLEASE )

:w:

The basic Trumpeter kit is very nice indeed.
If all their mouldings are as good as this one, they are one to watch.
I scored the kit pretty cheap on eBay, £20 ish I think; not bad.
The LZ resin conversion kit, for the SIXTY build, is about TWICE the price !

Having checked out a couple of builds on the MM sites...
...they all said the LZ resin kit is of the best quality.
Good fit, minimal clean-up, sharp detail & decent resin.
Seems like LZ have a rep. for not cuttin' corners.

They must be one of the only producers of 1:35 railway gear in the world.
Their web site has 1:35 standard gauge flats for the MM boys to put tanks & stuff on...:Salute:
...plus other railway related 1:35 stuff.

They seem to distribute the exellent range of 'Mirror Models' 1:35 placky kits as well.

I don't think I found a UK distributor on their site either.
They had a very few distributors only, perhaps not one in the US.
I think the general idea is to mail-order from them.

I don't expect the SIXTY conversion kits are exactly 'flyin outta the door'.
Nice of 'em to make one though.
I expect it's one of the dudes favourite tractors. :P

Santa short changed me on the LZ kit !!! ...:f:

In the meantime...
...all the MEK that I haven't inhalled...
...has gone towards glueing together these dudes...

FEDERAL SAWMILL SAFETY INSPECTION OFFICERS !!

If yer i's aint dotted 'n' yer t's ain't crossed...
...these muthers gonna shut you down BIG TIME !  :f::f:

Adious amiggo ! :mex:

Cheers

Si.

Yep, I would dearly love to build one of these...but I have a few other things that need money thrown at-electricity, gas, water, food,......well, you know.

Holy Cow!!! I thought that first picture that Si posted of a cat 60 looked familiar. It is located just down the way from my house in Van Buren, AR.

Got this rather spiffy book on the SIXTY recently.

In April 1925, Holt Manufacturing Company & C.L.Best Tractor Company merged...

...the rest is history !

The book is published by 'Iconografix, U.S.' ( May 1996 ).

21.6 x 27.9 cm  144 pages.

This a stunning photo book !

A short 'potted-history' of a few pages to start.

Then well over 100 B&W full-page pix. of sexy SIXTYs !

The original negatives are all top-quality & the printing very good.

If you can think of a SIXTY doing it; there's a picture of it here !...

...& pix. of things you probably wouldn't think a SIXTY was used for !!!

Logging, mining, farming, road-building, demolition, construction, big-trucking.

One of my favorites...

...pulling an old bank-vault out of a downtown bank.

No they weren't robbers !...

...musta been installing a new ATM or something ?!

Got a tidy 2nd-hand copy for 10 quid / 15 bucks !

Tractor fans, rush to the ATM & get a copy...

...you won't regret it !

Cheap as chips ! :pop:

Cheers.

Si.
