Ray, I believe it is ModelIk that makes paper models of that type of dozer. They are complex, but very detailed and look good if you take enough time.

Nope, it is Orlik.

Here's a build thread on one of them.

Now that is cool as #$%^&...My only concern is that the kit may cost more than my social security check could stand! I will see if SQUADRON has them. Thanks for the info.

Hi Woodie.

The MiniArt & Mirror Models kits, can be $$$.

I 'helped Santa' find an 'economy option'...
...& ended up with Mirror Models #35853
It was NEARLY 1/2 the cost of the MiniArt one WITH the blade.
Just looked out on eBay, till 'the price was right'...
...no sense in paying full price, NO WAY.

I personaly like the non-blade tractors better anyhow.

- - -

BEWARE OF THE MINIART DOZER KITS !!

Their track-sections are in FOUR PARTS...
...Mirror Models & Trumpeter (ChTZ S-65) track-sections are in THREE PARTS.

The MiniArt kits have the 'bearing-pin' as a SEPERATE PART !
Mirror Models & Trumpeter have the bearing-pin as part of one of the 2 side-pieces that mount on the tread.

The bearing-pin is EXTREMELY SMALL !
I haven't tried assembling MiniArt tracks...
...but thought I should point this out.
It's probably a FREAKIN' NIGHTMARE !
(like most MiniArt kits !)

I'm part way through my D7.
It's very nice, ZERO flash, sensible runner locations etc.
Lot of parts though.

Cheers.

Si.

The Orlik versions are less than 20 bucks it appears, IF you can find one. I have one put away for the day that the round tuits arrive.

I couldn't resist the temptation any longer !

Mysterious :moose: Mountain just took delivery of the 1:48 Tamiya kit.

I am hoping that it can represent a 'baby tractor' like a Caterpillar TEN in my 1:35 scale project.

I probably won't fit the dozer-blade.

A coat of Cat. yellow ... & who's gonna know the difference !?

More later ..................

Hi Si. Nice kit and it makes up smaller than I expected even though I'm an On30 modeller. I got mine to throw a track and become a derelict.

Being derelict with the engine covers off, I installed the Life-Like Products No.1659 generator load as an engine. Hard to get now it seems and I'd buy up some more if I could find them.

Now she just lingers outside Updah Creek's loco workshop waiting to be scrapped or cannibalised!

Great piece of scenery Doug--but with a busted track, how did it get to the engine house?

Must be proof that there is a large crane with 5 grippers that lurks in the shadows----
