A useful site for anyone modelling British outline looking for information to help get the details right beyond the railway fence.

THANKS!

Now wouldn't it be great if we had a similar source for those of us deluded Brits trying to model the US RR scene.
Pants, suspenders, hoods, trunks etc. - nothing like their meaning in proper English !.

Gandy Dancer ?? What's that all about ?  Give me a Texas 2 Step any time.

Well Michael-

It's a bloody good read, and a smashing link.

Herb, If you click 'Main Menu' on that site it leads to a very comprehensive general guide to UK RR practice. Also some good info on more specialist areas such as the RR aspects of coal mining/handling, docks, cranes etc.

Something strange - link isn't giving me a website - Firefox shows a blank white page - interent explorer gives this, "Why is this page displayed?
This "website holding" page is displayed when you visit igg.org.uk because the owner has registered the domain name (or set up a sub-domain), but has not yet created a website.
Without this page, website visitors would see a "Page not found" error. The holding page confirms that the domain's DNS has been set up correctly"

I get a blank page now, although I've been reading it a lot since the link was posted here. Can't access from the bookmark that I've been using either.

I'll leave it to the folks that know what they are doing to figure out.

Herb

It seems that the page is offline now. My suggestion is to check it later.

I've just tried it, June 10th. It's working fine from my old 'puty thing.
