I know the DCC decoders are rated by current capacity but what determines which decoder you put in your steam loco? I am going to get an NCE at the NMRA con tomorrow but I am not sure what decoder to buy?

Howdy Lance, I'll bet that the NCE vendor can help you with your decision. I would opt for a board with high current capability and be able to fit in the required space. Have fun at the convention.

Lance.
Go to the Soundtrax web site. They have a list of all of their available DCC decoders (Sound) that suits Steam or Diesel by size and manufactures if that is what you want.
Top Hobby is another good site as to Tony's trains.
