My shipment of carving plaster, ground paint, basic ground cover and a few glues that I spent my lunch money on last week came in today.

So I'm gathering up a few tools and some spray bottles and a plastic mixing dish I got from the trash in preparation of slinging some plaster rocks.

It's the first time I've done any rock sculpting, but after watching what seems like a zillion videos on the subject, it doesn't look too hard.

Might be a few days, but I'll post photos as soon as I have something worth looking at.

Wish me luck.

OH Jeez

More pieces to lose in the carpet--but I'm sure that it caters to the basic teenage need to destroy something. ANYTHING.

On a similar---I am told by a very good friend in the UK that the cretins that  run around over there destroying and spraying graffiti are known as ''Herberts''

So now you folks all know why weird thing happen here-----

Here's Herbert's dyno-mite car on the old abandonded Mogollon Railway.

And here, it has "exploded" due to carelessness during coupling. This little jewel is all brass except for the inside of the roof and has a mechanism that releases the "explosives" when whacked...or sometimes it happens when I am just looking at it!

The late E.L. Moore had an article in MR where he blew a fireworks manufacture building he made by actual firecrackers - it was a nice series of photos...

So I started the rock sculpting plaster today, so messy but loads of fun even on this tricky beast.

I still need to fill in a few missed spots and smooth some of the strada lines with a wire brush, but I think it looks like something is working.

Too cold in the Studio, so it was staying moist even after six hours or so, so I brought it upstairs where it's warmer to dry out. I'm sure the Wife will be thrilled (not).

So here's a progress shot.

Lookin' good George.

I hope your tunnel clearance is OK.

If not, just send up the dynamite car, for some BLASTING !

Cheers.

Si.
