Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone has hands on experience with the Tichy Train Group 22' wood ore cars.

Ill be making an HO scale Arizona late 40's mining layout, so I'm starting to do some research.

I came across these Tichy Train Group 22' wood ore cars. I know they are a pretty in depth kit and have read that tehy take about 12 hours to paint and assemble.

Just wondering if anyone has assembled these kits and what you think of them!

Thanks guys!

Tichy kits are great. A bit complicated, but if you take your time you won't have a problem. After seeing your shed build I pretty sure you'd do a good job assembling one of these kits.

Hi Sean,

I have that kit but I decided to scratch build my ore cars. I think it's a nice kit and it doesn't look to complicated to me.

Here is a photo of some of the parts. I have only assembled the trucks so far, rest is out of the box.

These are wonderful kits. I built a string of them when they first came out.

I did manage to glue the queenposts 180 degrees opposite of how they should have been glued on the first one. But that was easily corrected on the rest of them.

You know, these might look OK in 1:48/On30. Maybe an O scale brakewheel and some other details and I can see some being pulled by a little Porter or Davenport.
