When are the model train manufacturers going to offer women engineer figures, and finally get around to catching up with last century?

Illustrations from 2010 and from this year:

Women being engineers is not something which just began yesterday - Chessie System, and the roads which formed it, had their first female engineer fatality, Barbara Hopkins, in February 1980, as result of another engineer ignoring a signal.

Women at the throttle are relatively new chronologically speaking. They would be totally out of place in an older setting layout.

The old Mogollon Railway had a female engineer, as soon as she can move to Silver City, she has the same job waiting.

I told ya that the SCPA&M had a female engineer:

Miss Patricia finally moved down to Silver City and here she is, just about to climb onboard old #1. The tiny cab makes for some close quarters inside so she and the fireman are married. Yes, there is nepotism on this railroad. Any questions?

...and that can o' worms can go fishin'.

Betty has been waving pom-poms for a wealthy Presidential candidate.

She was hoping to get a good job at The White House after the campaign.

But Betty's the first to admit ... Things aint lookin' good for the boss...

...& she's probably gonna get FIRED !

She loves driving mining locos though.

And at 1:24 could be a WINNER for any Gn15 railroad !

:rah:

Si.
