Engineer figures, and crewmen, and other folks are some of my favorite modeling projects. When I was into O scale, I built most of my figures from 1:48 military kits, cutting off helmets and guns, etc. and modifying them to represent "civies". Even RTR folks got razor-sawed into pieces and re-assembled. In the larger scale I use now, 1:35, this job becomes far easier. Most of the military figures come in pieces so I can build them with almost any pose I want and the helmets, caps, and "soldier stuff" are easier to trim off because they are larger which works out with my older eyesight. On my new layout, every figure is made this way...and you know those old nazi dudes wearing long coats...they can become "ladies" with some body putty and new hair-dos. Even though these figures are wearing boots, I imagine that in 1920 New Mexico, most everybody wore boots to protect against sticky plants and nasty critters.
So, try making a figure or two sometime, you may just get "hooked". And you will have folks that are not just like everybody else has.

Whew...I guess I stayed too long at the keyboard tonight.

If we have real trans people is only fair to model them....

Both the "women" shown in this photo are nazi sex-change participants. They requested it after WW2 when they were on the run from prosecution. They ain't pretty but they are now women...in a way.

Them is some big wimmen!

Yep, saws... I have an easier time in 1:24 with the Frankenstein maneuvers. Lots of Chinese donors giving limbs, heads and torsos to the cause.

I miss the Mogollon. So, I just went back to page one of your thread Woodie, and started over. :old dude:

It wasn't the National Enquirer, Si---It was Playboy.

But then they changed the magazine, and no more centerfold.

So----

Phoenix do4 'female' crew but what you are after is quite doable to anyone with a bit of practice - just buy a lovely plastic female - cut off head - reattach to male train crewman whose head has been remove - get some sculpting clay like milliput round the hips and give a curve to the chest area and file the shoulder slightly narrower and you will have quite a reasonable engineer
