I second Kens guess, as a gasoline powered jaw crusher for ballasting on the Railway.
I saved and enlarged the photo, looks like yet another
project to work on, have a scratch built jaw crusher done.

I need a jaw crusher. I once missed out on getting a sample crusher, just a cute little thing. Maybe a foot wide.

I will cherish my moose forever. I'm watching a scale model (1/24) moose head on ebay. One of these days it will hang out here.
