Here are some photo's I took at the Ontraxs event last month. Were I can I put the name of the layout by the photo's.

First "Aerial & pickles".

"VEB Baustoffkombinat"

"Trinca-vecnou"

"Tripton by the sea"

"Chemins de fer de Berthoud"

"California dreamin"

"Red hook bay"

"From Lewin Leski to Bozepole Mazurskie"

I wish there were shows like that here! I really liked the Gypsy girl & dancing bear scene. Very cool stuff!

Thank you Alwin for taking some of your time to post pictures of the great Ontraxs show in Utrecht. This show has a great reputation amongst European modelers.  I'm a member  of a french speaking forum dedicated to narrow and metric gauge railways so I particularly enjoyed the pictures of the Bouliere layout  ( built by Roderik Vanderkelen  ) because  my layout ( in  construction  ) is based on the SNCV/NMVB belgian vicinal tramway.

We do our best to achieve a show like this every year, get tougher every year to find layouts up to the standard we like to see..

Breathtaking.
This is some of the finest modeling I've seen outside of a magazine (and even better than much of the published stuff, too).W C Greene wrote:

Even at the NMRA conventions, you don't see this quality of modeling. But then again, I know that it's very common for people to have very small layouts which are taken to shows, whereas in the US, the focus is on as large of a home layout as you can build, or module groups.

Guess you're right here Lee, these modelers focus on a layout they can finish in 2 years and not in a life time..

Yep, here in the USA, it's "the best layout that money can buy" and "RTR forever!".
