Dave, thanks for the offer.

Only track nearby is the main line coming to the lodge, can't tie that up.
I may be able to combine a couple of these suggestions and create a hybrid plan.

I have set the swimming pool water issue aside for now. The amount of real estate taken up by the skinny dipping pond has been bothering me for some time. So, out it came. In its place will be another building in the BigStone Mountain Lodge complex.
This move makes my nude figures homeless. To remide this situation I'm thinking of up-dating my time period to the 1990s and having a clothing optional resort.
This photo shows the beginning stage of this reworked area.

Rethinking the clothing optional resort idea. My clothed figures have togs that are from the 1950s so would be out of place in the 90s.
I don't know how early a clothing optional resort would have been in business. I remember that people in the 1950s were still up tight about such things. Maybe a resort, high in the Black Hills, with very limited access, might have had a clothing optional policy.
I understand that brothels were still in business, up in Deadwood, SD, into the 1980s. While not legal, the authority's looked the other way. It was recently announced, Deadwood will be putting together a Brothel Museum somewhere in the downtown area.
I like to ruffle a few feathers once in a while. So, just might do the clothing optional resort after all.

Howdy Larry, how about making the time era about 1968??? By then, there were many places where there were "unclothed" swimming. Here in Texas, we have (had?) a section on lake Travis in Austin called "hippie hollow" where clothes were not even permitted! I do know that in certain areas back in earlier times, there were "nudist" lakes & ponds operated by "health resorts", but they tended to be men on one day and ladies on another...no fraternizing.
Alas, even in "liberal" Austin, it is no longer "fashionable" for nude bathing at Lake Travis.

Does this help any?
Woodie

Woodie, 1968 would only be a shift of 9 years from 1959, the current date of my layout. Some of my figures would need to be updated while others could be used, as is. Things here in the Black Hills change slowly, especially in the back country. And it just so happens that is where my clothing optional resort is potentially to be located.

If I do this resort, I will be very careful to post photos that do not show much nudity.

Aw, c'mon Larry. Be bold!

In the 1930s it was thought that the church-going residents of Updah might object to the sights at Madamme Molly's Painted Lady saloon.

Where downstairs was a scene of modest propriety - well, almost -

But upstairs was a different kettle of fish altogether!

But Madamme Molly had also produced and bottled a sweet smelling perfume from the resin of the local Cedar and Juniper trees.

Which the local ladies found easily covered up their discomposure and salved their consciences,
especially when they realised how much extra trade the set-up brought into the township!

So c'mon Larry - let it all hang out!

OK, I have decided to do the clothing optional resort. 1965 will be the new time frame of my layout.
I'll will use the Big Stone Mountain Lodge name. My little tram line is the only way to reach this resort. Hikers, who make the arduous clime high up into the mountains, could accidentally run across the naked resort guests. The hikers are welcome to don their birthday suites and cool off in the swimming pool. It's a long walk back down the mountain.

I'll keep you posted on my progress.
