I visit a number of train forums and All but this one are always loaded with questions concerning things not working like they should.

I don't see much of that here, don't see a lot of belly-aching either [toast]

So here's an attaboy and :2t: to all who post here :moose:

Yep, the guys here seem to be generally pretty good about fixing things, or atleast have learned what trains work for them and which don't.

Being able to fix something or modify it to your personal needs rather than just buying something else is a fast disappearing skill.  It has nothing to do with politics or religion or anything of that sort, just the way things are.

There's also a tendency to have less rivets and more duct tape in the models.  Adds character.

Could it be that the younger generation are too lazy to research things for themselves and expect other people to do it for them.....................??

I think, generally, there's a much higher degree of craftsmanship here than in any other model railroad forum I've ever come across.
That's not to say I haven't been baffled at something here and there since I built my layout (people don't seem to know that is the first layout I've ever built and I had a LOT of help with the electrical stuff).

Always glad to hear that folks like FreeRails!
My philosophy has been from the start to let the forum run it's self, as much as possible.
works well with a great bunch of members.

Ultimately, it's the members that make--or break--any organization. As my English friends say--''works a treat'' with a great bunch--

So, THANK YOU to all the members! You have made my job so easy----

It really helps that you're not like some of the people in charge of a few other model RR forums.
One, especially, drives me nuts, with his constant bombardment of insults and personal attacks in threads regarding stuff he insists on having the last word on... I bet a few of you know who I mean, but let's keep it vague, please.

I know about snotty list owners, etc. I have been deleted from many sites because I failed to keep my keyboard quiet! I am truly glad that I am here where folks are adults and not kids!

Glad to see this forum is appreciated. As a former Super Moderator who had to leave this job do to other interests, I'm glad members find this a great place to congregate for the exchange of ideas. While I'm at it I'd like to congratulate Nevada Blue for taking on an Administrative position to help Herb and Woodie out.

I occasionally drop by to see what's going on. Herb & Ken are doing a fine job. Help them out when you can. I know Herb would appreciate that very much.

Bernd

Thanks Bernd, for everything. I hope you can visit more often, at least peek in and post sometimes. This forum is a jewel, worth the effort to keep it going.
