I have no idea what is wrong with the forum. Yesterday afternoon I was getting a 'server stopped responding' yesterday afternoon, no forum at all. Then after several hours of that I would get the home screen, but nothing else worked.
I sent a note to Herb and to the hosting service to try to get help. So far, it looks like the forum in intact (knock wood) but something to do with indexing or who knows what is broken.
Hang in there, Have FUN! Someone will figure this out.
:old dude:

Well now the forum functions work, but I get several lines of error text above the image of the tram.  Also, there's about 20 posts from 1970, which can't be right (unless you guys were doing mail corespondents back then)

But at least the forum works now, I can post and see topics.

It also looks like we have lost some topics. Still waiting for support to look at the system.

Hi Ken and all,
For James
the forum is displaying oldest first as a default when the Recent tab is selected. If you click on the "Last Post" date column the list is reversed and displays latest first - BUT...

To all,
It looks like the last week's worth of postings are trapped somewhere - there is a significant gap after August 13/14 or so. This stuff (even this post) does not currently appear in "Recent" This might account for some of those error messages.

LATER EDIT 1 - just checked some of my posting I've made in the last week and they are in the topic but the topic is not showing correctly in Recent for the most recent postings.

I'm sure normal service will be resumed shortly, Please give the Moderators and techies a chance to sort it out for us,

Our host, the owner of the server and author of the forum software, is working on it...

I was just informed that a server crash caused the problems and that the database was corrupted. Also, it will be FIXED. Good news.
So, we can continue to use the board in it's odd state for now (is that Tejas?, the odd state? ) and when the repairs are done, we should have our system back WITH the Appetite Mine.

Looks like we're only down to 3 "1970's" threads, so the problem is mostly taken care of.

Great job to our excellent supermoderators/moderators/helpful techie forum members.

THANK YOU!!!

Yes, the 1970 posts are getting fixed, but there are still a lot of missing topics and posts. We will see... I was told we 'were under the head' when the server crashed. Just lucky I guess.

It happens to all forums every now and then.
I never lose much sleep as in most cases, it gets fixed eventually...
