OK Genii & THANKS SI !!! (& Erudite Eddie an' All)

Being a totally analogue person I've not the foggiest notion what's been going on but by following Einstein Si's instructions as above --  I can see the Gallery !! (but 'orrible background screen colour).

Now I'm NOT being picky - any photos is better than NO photos - but, the photo order in my personal Gallery is totally out of subject/date/context order - but I ain't complaining !.

I haven't tried the big 'G' button yet (hasn't worked for me since the last Gallery tweak back about ? Fem/March).

Y'all give yourselves a raise on that fat $0.00 salary.

Thanks & Mucho Riguardo,   Michael

Members who want to use the 'Freerails Gallery' to view & upload photos...

...On the top 'Menu' click 'My Account'...
...then click 'Preferences'...
...then click 'Theme'...
...then select 'AIBLUE' as the 'Board Theme'...
...& finally click on 'Save' at the bottom.

You should now have access to the 'Freerails Gallery' to view & upload to...
...by going back to the top 'Menu' and clicking on 'Gallery'

If you ALREADY have the 'Board Theme' selected as 'AIBLUE'...
...just go to the top 'Menu' and click on 'Gallery'

Push a couple of buttons and yer there !

Eddie

Hi Robert

The problem was a simple one
The Gallery was all there and working
It was just 'invisible' to most Members
It took A WEEK to find out why

There are 4 'Themes' Members can choose between
2 out of the 4 were broken and not showing the Gallery Menu tab
The 3rd Theme does show this but displays the page all wrong
Only the 'AIBLUE' Theme out of the 4 was not completely broken

Most Members using the default 'Sea' Theme which used to work fine saw no 'G'
The 3 broken Themes will be repaired at some point so all 4 are back in working order
Members can still view Freerails in the default 'Sea' (green) Theme if they want to
They will NOT see the 'Gallery' button unless switching to the 'AIBLUE' Theme though

Non members and Members before they log in always get the 'Sea' (green) Theme
Once a Member logs in they see Freerails appear as the preference they have chosen
Or continue to see Freerails in the default if they haven't changed this
Most Members don't change the default to one of the other 3 available

Beam me up Scotty !

Eddie

A difficulty opening P.M.s in the 'AIBLUE' Theme has been reported
Opening and sending P.M.s in the default 'Sea' Theme works fine here
The whole 'Themes' issue is gonna get looked at in due course

Hot dog !

Done!!! Thanks Eddie and anyone else who has been dealing with these problems.

Actually, I had mine set to the "Sea" theme and wasn't seeing Gallery in the Menu.  Now it's fine.

Hi Helmut.

I just had a look at the Deltang Thread.
It was not possible to recover your last Post.
The thread isn't able to create a new Page.
As you probably know, a few 'pt.IIs' have been started.
Some Threads at the top of their Forums were affected by the server-crash.

Deltang pt.I can be linked to & viewed normaly, no further Posts can be added though.
I have started a Deltang pt.II

Hi Reg & John.

I just moved this over here to the FREERAILS FORUM TECHNICAL HELP thread
We are hoping that this will be the 'one-stop' place for ongoing technical recommendations
If any Members want the most up to date information on any issues, this is the place to find it
The issue of PMs in the 'AIBLUE' Theme was covered on this page already in Post No.106

Thanks John for the excellent explanation which you gave Reg
I have pasted it up here in the FREERAILS FORUM TECHNICAL HELP thread

*****

Hi Reg,
This could be a lingering effect of the crash we had recently. You may be set up in the background like I am. My understanding is that there are still some problems with parts of the "Board Themes" we use to view this forum. I am also using Chrome to view the forum.

Go to Menu > My Account > Preferences and check the "Board Themes" field

For me - under the "aiblue" Board Thems, I can see messages but not open them. If I use "ultra", I can see and open messages. So far the rest of the of the forum functionality appears to be working OK for me.

Can I suggest that you try "ultra" for a while and see if everything still works and report back please?

*****

Hi Reg

I'm pleased to hear your PMs are working OK now
The general Board Themes situation will be looked at shortly
We have been waiting on this so far to see if any further issues arise
I'm pleased to say that all issues regarding the server-crash seem to have been noted

Off for a cold one !

Hi Alwin

Thank you for your observation

I had to scrub the last three posts
The information posted was NOT correct anyhow

The matter is being investigated
Multiple Login attempts WILL be noted if they arise
ANY fake Logins or eMail accesses will be looked at VERY carefully indeed

There have been none discovered though

:f:

Eddie

Hi Herb

Any further communications regarding this matter
Should be sent to me as a PM only

I have looked into the situation you mentioned
I can probably fix it

:f:

Eddie
