Si.

Figured you will get a chuckle  :)  out of the attached photo.

One of your Damn :moose: guzzling my last  bottle of "Steam Whistle",

lucky I have a few Pacifico, Tiger, and Negro Modelo to get me over a shortage.

I gotta thank good ol' Canadian    Ken  :cb:  loads ...  :thumb:

... For mailing me an ACE ! article & plans of the  'Swayne Lumber Co.'  snow plough.

I had seen several photos of the  'Swayne'  plough on 'Google Images' ...

... But never saw what's inside, the later added cabin, doing all the work for up front ?  ???

So reading the marvelous article & having fantastically drawn 1/4" scale plans, was ACE !  :mex:

- - - - - - -

M.M.M.M.M.& M.Co. has 2 'wedge style' snow ploughs, based on 'The Gilpin Tram' ones.  :)

Wolfy needs to add the 6 steel tie-rods to this lil' baby, in case she HITS A ROCK ! !  :f:

I wonder if No.02 ^^ would look good in front of the 'Tri-ang' CN Heavy Road Switcher ?  L:  ;)

This vintage photo from Google Images shows the other 'Gilpin Tram' snow plow No.1 ...
... & its high & BEEFY looking addition above the main steel blade.  :old dude:

It appears that snow plough No.02 was used for lighter work & No.01 for the BIG STUFF !  :P

Both seem to share the same basic underframe design though ...
... Thick 'tie' size looking timber & steel tie-rods running from end to end.  :brill:  :dt:

- - - - - - -

Having a BASH at the 'Swayne Lumber Co.' lil' cutie  [whack]  is VERY tempting indeed !  :bg:

Mmm ...

:old dude:

Something I don't think I've EVER ? seen on Freerails before ...  ???

... which I don't think even Canadian    Ken has, in his extensive Snow Plow arsenal !  L:

:mex:  :dt:  The Double-Ended Wedge !  :dt:  :mex:

This extremely curious & FUNKY 'atypical' example, found on Google Images ...  [whack]

... very unlike the 'usual' C.N. Canadian National or 'Monson' types, which I had always thought of.  L:

I like plows.

The McCloud River Railroad still lives in Northern California,
north or Lassen Volcanic National Park.  Barely.
But as a kid, I fell in love with it, as I spent scads of time up there.

They were still shipping lumber in the early 2000s.
In the late 90s I went to the yard in McCloud, and they had a small double-ender,
that I have pictures packed away somewhere (slides).

It replaced this.
They used to get some real snow.

Kewl.

I like the Armstrong winch to adjust it!

Also from the same basic area as the McCloud River.

Which one you gonna build?

" Which one you gonna build ? "

Hi Steven  :cb:

What I really  SHOULD  do ... Is be content with the 'Gilpin Tram' 2-footer plows I'm already making !

But what I actually  WILL  do ...  :P  ... Who knows ?  :us:

'Gilpin Tram' plow No.02 (or No.01 ?) still needs its EXTRA HEAVY built up front designed & built.  L:

Then of course there are 'wild cards' thrown in ! ...

... like this rusty, rotten, written off, Russian wreck !

& anything  Canadian    Ken  might dig up from a deep drift !

The 'Swayne Lumber Co.' plow is an obvious  C   L  and compact(ish) subject ...

... but sadly Wolfy or the  M.M.M.M.M.& M.Co.  shops lack a surplus Class-A Climax underframe.  :f:

So perhaps some kind of GENUINE car shop cobbling together, of a TRUE ORIGINAL !  :mex:

The photo of the 'New York Central' experimental JET PLOW ! that Jose sent me is still in the files ...  :shades:

... joined now with some rocket powered Russian MiG jet-engine lash ups !   :Salute:

Plenty to do in any case !!  :boogie:

:java: :moose: :dt:

The Russian thing is the redneckest thing I ever saw.
