" Apparently both the boxcars and tankcars were top heavy when loaded "

Hi Canadian    Ken   Eh!

What about the depressed-center-flats ?  ;)

Wolfy is gonna have to think very carefully before loading any  M.M.M.M.M.& M.Co.  ones !

Especially if he scores any more lethal  C   L  vintage electrical junk on eBay !  :P

Meanwhile back to bench, some long-running component shortage problems  :f:  need sorting out.  L:

A lack of stake-pockets for car build detailing, was one of them.

The trusty HACKSAW came in handy, as usual & some K&S brass-channel slowly got shorter & shorter !  :P

The white area in the mini mitre box ( £1 eBay ! ) ...

... is a rectangle of thick mounting-board, heavily 'Blu Tack'(TM)ed in place, as a 'stop' for the lil' sawed sections.

:pop:

BOY ! the festive season involves A LOT of eating !  :y:

A some few Gallons of morning  :java: :java: :java: :java: :java:  s.

- - - - - - -

I have been working away slowly at the many & various, here at Mysterious Moose Mountain.  :slow:

I couldn't resist adding this to the gargantuan workload though ...  :thumb:

... by having a bit of a 'look see' at 2 car kits by 'ICM' which I scored on evilBay for a  N I C E !  price.  :)

I had to wait awhile to score 2 identical kits, both at an acceptable outlay for the  M.M.M.M.M.& M.Co.  management.  :time: $$$

Or should I say, what I had THOUGHT were 2 identical kits !  :f:

I was a bit grumpy at first when I discovered the 2 kits were different.

I had thought it was only the decoration illustrated on the box which was different ...

... the 1:35 military model market is littered with version As Bs Cs etc. ...

... OK so yeah, the 1940 versions of things, often looked a bit more 'production line' than the 1945 versions.

Mmm ...  :dt:

Anyway, I screwed up a little more than the oDd wing-mirror or fender here & there !  :mex:
I bought a freakin' 2-door & a 4-door ... without noticing !  :dope:

Probably better to stick to Caterpillar SIXTYs & D7s ...

... no freakin' doors on those babys !!

Anyway, the clever chaps at ICM did the extra doors EXACTLY like the factory did ...

... & they were of course at the rear !  :P

The ICM chassis for these car models is a somewhat frustratingly ACCURATE work of 1:35 art ...

... unlike MY build of them, chopping out chassis bits left, right & center, for ... 'RAILCARIZATION' !  ;)

YES ! ... This ol' favorite lash-up by N.Z. dude Olly Smith.

Or at least whatever kinda version Wolfy can manage to lash together !  L:

Looks like he won't have to worry too much about wing-mirrors OR fenders !!  :boogie:

Slightly random order of things here at Mysterious Moose Mountain as usual ...

... but I kinda just Post whatever I'm 'randomly' doing at the time !  :us:

Having fun on my really MESSY bench ... as usual.  ;)

" 12 wheeler no less ! "

Legendary N.Z. logging builder Olly Smith, did seem to favour the 12-wheeler conversion ...  :old dude:

... after some years of experimentation with other designs ...  L:

... he stuck with his 12s !

Here with somewhat more horsepower ^^ than the double-ended railcar conversion.

Yes people do tear apart 1:1 trucks & autos, as well as 1:35 ones, to do oDd things with them !  :P
