FWIW, I ended up getting a 5V Seuthe unit and building a circuit from Big Hauler Tips that has a voltage regulator and a good provision to keep the smoke unit "hot" while switching from forward to reverse. It works great, although these type of smoke units or finicky and weak compared to modern smoke units with fans! My comparison is MTH smoke units in O gauge stuff - my wife forbid me from running smoke in the house!

if any info is needed from me just let me know.

i really want smoke on all my stuff sicee I will be running outside, but I am not sure how viable fan driven smoke units are with battery power. anybody have experience or thoughts? I am thinking to use O gauge or smaller smoke units to try and keep the power down; from my experience on my O gauge MTH it was enough smoke for G gauge.
