Google it for a few bad pics of a really nutty M46 tank proposal.
Jose.

" really nutty "

Hi Jose

Sure is !
Only the 'pipopak' research dept. could come up with such a prototype.
It does make a 'Snickers' bar look lightweight !!

The operating principle looks quite straight forward.
Track in at the front.
Iron & pulp-wood out at the back.

Munch ... Munch ! ... Munch !!

" YESIR !! ... Full speed ahead ! " :Salute:

Looks like a series of heavy-duty wheels spread the rails & the ties fall off  at the bottom.
Simple but effective I guess.
I wonder if it's compatible with narrow gauge. L:

I think the Russians are on to this secret weapon by the way.
One of the regular Members over on the Russian site http://www.topwar.ru had this to say about it.

Main drawback as I see it would be dropping it in 'behind enemy lines'.
In this instance, I would suggest another extremely effective method of railway sabotage !

Issue airborne troops with trash-bags full of leaves.
Just walk along the tracks, dropping leaves onto the rails as you go.
Works EVERY time !
Brings British-Rail services to a grinding halt, totally guaranteed. :f:

:moose:

Si.

Rumour has it,  that Woodies cat might be putting a 2' gauge R.C. one of these together in the garage, out of some surplus 1:35 Tamiya WWII parts.

;)

Would have been a sellout success for the Tri-ang 'BATTLE SPACE !'(TM) range in HO.

I checked the Walthers catalogue...
...not available at present.

Hi all,
this one probably works better as a track muncher
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUHJGi__k-A
and it's steam powered :bg:

Anyone want a job as a gandy-dancer rebuilding the mess?

Interesting to note the almost unnoticeable  amount of equalization in the loco drivers as they span the rail gaps.

I think you guys are looking at it backwards. It's driving away from us. You put the rail and ties in the far end and it spits out finished track on the other side.
