No, it's just a visualisation of the "red door painted black" - Ron Wood style

I have been so impressed with the performance of my model building aid...
...I decided to make a MKII version !!

I was going to call these 'Rubber RECTANGLES ?'.

But it doesn't sound right.

So I'm just calling the new version 'The MKII(TM)'

So YES !

There is a MKIII(TM) inspired by what Woodie said.
&
Also a MK 'L'(TM) inspired by your Post Peter !

Interestingly, the rectangular ones appear to be 19mm in width -

On30 track gauge width.

Mmmmmm...On30 gauge isn't 19MM but 16.5MM. Just had to carry the news.

Woodie

OR are you thinking of 1:43 scale?

No, my internal metric converter wasn't working properly.

It insisted 5/8" was 19mm.

That, and a healthy dose of confirmation bias.

Shame on me.

I sit corrected.

I am not a real stickler for adherence to scale, by the way.

When I see an On30 2-6-0 that weighs 1,500 pounds, maybe I'll reconsider.

I have figured it out.

It's made of rubber and is dimensioned to conform to 1:43 O scale rail spacing.

It's a "rubber gauge".

" Well, at least it is a rubber square instead of a ...square rubber! "

The MKIII(TM) inspired by Woodies Post on Page-1 <<< is finished !

My humble model building aid, is of course, not in the same leauge as all the hi-tech cabling, power packs, electronics & microchips on Woodies bench.
But I'm just starting out in the model building aid game, so I'm trying to keep things simple. ;)

The MKIII(TM) W.C.G Model.

:moose:

Si.

Some initial testing has proven the new design is a WINNER !

It can also be used to advantage with the original 'Rubber SQUARE ?' ( MKI ) for extra tricky jobs.

This new 'hands on' R&D, has helped developing the even newer MK'L'(TM) as well.

The MKII(TM) is now installed & is offering STELLA performance !

A simple, but fantastic, model building aid !!

Model building aids?

So the rubber is a cutting mat and the foam is a loco cradle?

Jez Si. you're confusing everybody.

I think I'll go play with trains.

It slices-

It dices-

It makes julienne fries (whatever the heck they are)-

It's less filling and tastes great-

-It stays crunchy, even in milk!
