This question is probably going to answered by some one living in the European countries,my 15 year old intellibox is showing severe signs of wear in the control potentiometers. They wobble side ways when turning the knob and the fine adjustment (selecting speed and addresses) is becoming painful.Does anyone know the type and value ,and even better, where to buy them?I will be able to change them myself, just need the correct replacement pot...........cheers Peter.

I'll cite myself from yahoo IBX group:
>>
As I was forced to replace several pushbuttons and both encoders on my
first-generation IB, I couldn't find a distributor that sells PIHER
encoders ( The original one is that make ) But I ran across el cheapo
Alps EC11E15244BY, a drop-in replacement with exception of the shaft (
as usual ). I overcame this by sinking the knob's bore to a total of 11mm
(3/8"), using a 6mm milling bit. The knobs slide on perfectly with a
slight press-fit and hold up well enough even when turning them
rapidly. For the more demanding, a concave piece of leaf-spring steel,
roughly 4mmx8mm, can be put into the hole and slid on the recessed
shaft together with the knob. That's it.

I have the first model IB and it does the restart occasionaly, very annoying,Is there a fix for that?I will now go to google and check out the encoder suppliers and price........Peter

That was 4 yrs. ago.
The restart phenomenon hasn't occurred on mine and I haven't read of so far - but I strongly recommend to update your software from Uhlenbrock's website directly.

Looks like the encoder is no longer available, there is an encoder(EC11E15244BA) with 30 detents instead of 15,I assume the knob will need to be turned twice as much than the original encoder. My ib was updated about eight years ago,is there another update available?...Peter

30 detents is 15 pulses/turn, so that is OK. Be sure that there is the push-on switch, or check out ALPS' website.
There is an update younger than 8 yrs for the IB I - check with UB.
