The problem with that site is that unlike other self-publish sites, you can't apparently see any content of their books.

Not quite so. If you click on the cover photo, some of them show a green tab called 'Vorschau' under the enlarged picture, and you can flip through some pages of it. Have done this with Buildings&Structures of American RRs, Vol. 6
P.S. Judging from your IP, it comes up automatically in your language, of course. So there's a preview tab.

Cool selection of books...my only problem with it is that I CAN'T SPEND ANY MONEY RIGHT NOW! Otherwise...

Oh, I now see that some of them will allow you to see a few pages, usually the table of contents and a couple of real pages. But only a few do this.

Have Vol 1 and 2 of Early  Wood Frame and Stone  Structures.
Vol 1 has the smaller structures bar for a large Stamp Mill. Vol 2 has larger structures.
Both cover a fair range of structures but Vol 1 would be the one for newbies  building structures...and a couple of designs incorporate plaster walls to get your teeth into for experience of plaster carving.
Vol 1  also has a real doozy of a depot..almost Gothic in appearance..)
Vol 2 for the experienced I would think..
